About Me: I grew up a military brat overseas where all the kids joined the Boy Scouts. It taught me early that volunteering can be both fun and rewarding. Later in life I joined the Army Reserves. What I learned there was to know first hand, what the stories and pictures on TV of people in refugee camps, living in poverty and struggling just to survive feels like. I also learned that when everyone does their part to make a difference, peoples lives do improve. I left the military in 2004 after spending 6 months in Iraq. I'm now a software engineer looking to get reconnected with volunteering.
